An anonymous donor has helped increase the reward to anyone who can provide
information regarding the murder of a gay man who in 2012 was found dead
in in his home in the 2700 block of Wilborn on San Antonio's Northeast
Neighbors of Roland "Danny" Castillo said they became worried
when they could not reach him by phone on June 28, 2012.
According to local media reports, a friend of Castillo's found the door
to the home unlocked and went in to find the victim dead in the shower

by friends of Castillo. An anonymous donor this week added another $5000,
amounting to a total reward of $15,000, for information which leads to
the arrest of whoever was responsible for the victim's murder.
Castillo, who was 67-years-old, was a native of Seguin. According to his
obituary, Castillo was a nurse at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital and a member
of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. He went to nursing school in
Dallas, served in the U.S. Air Force and taught nursing in Beirut, Lebanon.
Castillo was active in the ACTS HIV Ministry which offers three-day retreats

prayer groups, special liturgies, and social activities to continue to
provide friendship and fellowship to those affected or infected with HIV.
